Product: ImportOmatic
Description: Describes functionality that creates a duplicate of the existing and original profile
Environment: All
Version: All

Answer:

Automatic profile updates when importing

When importing, ImportOmatic compares the incoming data to ensure it matches the fields within the profile. For example, the data source fields could change when new custom fields are added, or if the connector has been updated to retrieve new fields.

If the available fields being imported from a connector source don't match the existing fields in your profile, ImportOmatic will update the profile and continue with the import. Any fields added will be set to Ignore by default.

If any mapped fields were unable to be remapped, the import will be canceled. You will receive an error message listing those fields. A copy of the original profile will be saved with a date stamp for reference. Make any necessary changes to the original profile without the date stamp, and then reimport. Once you no longer need the copy, you can discard it.

In this example, Recognition - IsAmountSent and Test Field were not able to be remapped:

Automatic profile updates when importing customized profiles

If the profile has custom code, the import will be canceled. You will receive an error message asking you to review the custom code. A copy of the original profile will be saved with a date stamp for reference. Once you have confirmed the customization was not impacted, you can run the import again using the updated profile (the one without the date stamp).

Here is an example of what the message will look like on a customized profile:
