This error occurs when using the right-click menu to add a Registration Fee Gift to a non-constituent participant. When trying to save the gift, the error will pop up.
Before adding the registration gift from the participant he or she must be promoted to a full constituent. Right-click and choose Open Participant. In the toolbar, click on Participant--> Add this participant as a constituent.
