Description: Dictionaries allow multiple values from a data file to be translated into a single value within RE during the import process. Dictionaries can be utilized to minimize the amount of manual manipulation that takes place during file preparation. This solution describes how to make edits to a dictionary value and how to delete a dictionary value.

To Edit A Value In A Dictionary: 

  1. On the Dictionaries tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Dictionary that requires the edit and double click to open or highlight and select the edit button to open the Dictionary
  2. Use your mouse to highlight the selected Replacement Value or Value to Match On that requires editing
  3. Double click on the value to open the "Edit Dictionary" window. Make the selected changes to the value and select the Save button to save changes made during the editing
  4. Select the Save button in the Dictionary window to save any changes before exiting the Dictionary

To Delete A Value In a Dictionary: 

  1. On the Dictionaries tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Dictionary that requires the change and double click to open or highlight and select the edit button to open the Dictionary
  2. Use your mouse to highlight the selected Replacement Value or Value to Match On that requires removal
  3. Once the desired value to remove is highlighted, select the Delete key on your keyboard. This will trigger a confirmation window that asks "Are you sure you want to delete this entry?", select yes to continue with the removal of the selected value
  4. Select Save to save changes made within the selected Dictionary 

***Note: Selecting to Delete a Replacement Value will also delete any associated Values to Match On as well.
