Description: This solution discusses how to make edits to existing profiles when a column needs to be removed or added in order to ensure that the file format is the same format as the profile.
Environment: All
Versions: All

Answer:

1. Open IOM Configuration and select Profiles. Choose desired profile and select by double clicking or highlighting and selecting the Edit button to open.
2. Select the appropriate letter from the "Column" column that coincides with the letter column that the change has been made in on the data file. Ex. If you added a new column in column A of your data file, you will select and highlight column A within the profile as well.
3. Once the appropriate column has been selected by highlighting, right click and select from the following right click menu options:
   a. Insert row before
   b. Insert row after
   c. Delete
If you select to "insert row before": the row that is currently showing as "A" in this example, will become row "B" and the new empty row will exist in its previous position.

If you select to "insert row after": the row that is currently showing as "A" in this example, will maintain its position and a new empty row will be created as row "B". The previous contents of row "B" will shift down to row "C" as well as all other letters/columns in succession.

If you select to "Delete" the selected row will be deleted and the rows will repopulate in appropriate order to compensate for the deleted row. Ex. row "B" will become row "A" if row "A" is deleted.

4. After the selected option has been chosen you will be able to double click into the "Field Name" column and enter a value that is appropriate for the added column. You may then map the record type and the value type accordingly.
5. Select the Save button at the bottom of the profile pane to save changes.
