This error is received after entering the User Name and Password for The Raiser's Edge (RE), before RE fully launches. You may have to clear through several instances of this same error before RE launches. Once in RE, none of your custom VB/VBA Macros will be available.
Sometimes User Account Control (UAC) can suppress an RE workstation update that needs to occur. UAC is a new security option introduced in Windows Vista.
Right click on RE and choose to run as an Administrator, and the update prompt will display. After the RE workstation update completed, the Assertion Failed error was no longer received and all of the VB/VBA Macros were available. You can then log in to RE normally.
