I admit, I have not used SOM for several months and I need a refresher course. :wow:
I have been given the task of coming up with a list for our mailhouse that consists of all direct mail donors who have given to any DM piece during the past 10 years. They need basic RFM info and I can't figure out how to get it with SOM but I know that is the best way to do it. I'm looking for a roadmap for directions on the best way to do this. They need it this week. Any help I can get would be great. Thank you!

Hi Heather, I hope you are well! You'll remember that all tasks for a specific segmentation project are performed using a profile in SegementOmatic. From here you will define segmentation hierarchies, create segments, optionally assign appeals to those segments, write appeal information to each constituent record within each segment, and create export files for use with mailings or other follow up steps. You'll want to ask your mail house how they want your data segmented (per year?, gift amount ranges?, etc).
Assuming you have this knowledge in hand, you'll first want to create a query in RE that consists of all direct mail donors who have given to any DM piece(query will depend on how you have this info recorded in RE). Each profile must have at least one Query hierarchy. In your profile you can define the gift dates(10 years ago). You will then set up the Recency, Frequency and Monetary Hierarchies as defined by your mail house. You can then run the profile and easily export the list. Our support team is here to help you with questions.
