Remove timestamp AND reformat date?

Is this possible? Date/Time is coming down like this:

2017-05-26T11:35:19-04:00

So I'd have to remove the timestamp first, correct? Then reformat the date to MM/DD/YYYY. But I can't even get the timestamp removal to work. Any ideas? I'm trying to learn but am not wrapping my head around this. :(

Did you ever find a solution for this?

6. How to Format a Data String of Numeric Values to a Date Format - Allows conversion of a string of numeric values to dd/mm/yyyy format.

 Replacement Value: $1/$2/$3

 Value to Match on: (\d+(?=\d{6}))(\d{2}(?=\d{4}))(\d{4}$)

Would this solution help? Posted on 'What are some Commonly Used Regular Expressions?
